Requirements
Required:
- 4+ years managing a team of 8–10 engineers with a focus on performance management and career conversations
- Experience building or operating production backend services at scale
- Concrete examples of reliable team delivery with measurable outcomes
- Direct experience working with PMs and translating requirements into engineering plans
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with fraud detection or security signals systems
- Exposure to ML-in-production and operationalization challenges
- Experience in high-growth B2B SaaS or API-first companies
- Experience managing engineers on real-time or latency-sensitive systems
Responsibilities
- Own 1:1s, performance calibrations, career development, and hiring
- Manage sprint planning and roadmap delivery while balancing scope and quality
- Maintain depth in the signals stack to review designs and challenge architectural decisions
- Represent Smart Signals in technical discussions across Engineering
