Requirements
Required:
- Have 8+ years of engineering experience, with 3+ years leading or managing teams
- Have built, significantly evolved, or operated an observability platform at scale
- Are deeply technical across the observability stack: logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, dashboarding
- Communicate clearly across both technical and non-technical audiences, and write well
Nice to have:
- Have experience building customer-facing observability products (not just internal platforms)
- Have contributed to open source observability projects
- Have experience at a company that dogfoods its own observability tooling
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the observability strategy for Supabase, covering logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, and profiling
- Own the customer-facing observability experience including dashboards, logs explorer, metrics, alerts
- Build and lead a world-class observability engineering team
- Orchestrate and scale high-throughput data pipelines for telemetry ingestion, storage, and querying
