Requirements
Required:
- 5+ years of professional senior backend engineering experience in an agile environment delivering services that support native mobile applications
- Hands-on production experience using Go as a primary language: concurrency, networking, and cross-compilation for Android and iOS
- Experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB or another document store, plus Redis or similar caching
- Strong VPN and networking expertise, including working knowledge of WireGuard and Shadowsocks
Nice to have:
- Experience building or maintaining a consumer VPN, proxy, or privacy backend
- Contributions to or deep familiarity with wireguard-go or gVisor netstack
- Experience operating multi-provider infrastructure and event-driven systems
Responsibilities
- Take technical ownership of an existing production VPN following its acquisition
- Stabilize the existing backend and Go networking engine, closing technical and security gaps
- Own the account, subscription, and server-selection APIs, and integrations with payments and analytics
- Establish automated testing, API documentation, and CI/CD where they don’t exist yet
